Love Halloween? Or just love having fun?

In Acland and Fitzroy Street Precincts, we love both! Which is why we’ve worked with our local businesses and organisations to schedule a huge array of spooktacularily eerie events across the weekend of the Oct 25, 26 and 27!

There’s something (well, more than one thing) for everyone – from kids and families to over 18s and even dogs! Not only are many events free, but you can attend many over the weekend, or even make a day or a night of it, event hopping!

Read on below for all on offer thus far and make sure to check back, as more will be added as we get closer to the date:

Join us for a Nightmare on Fitzroy Street on Fri, Oct 25 between 3.30 and 6.30pm for all the freaky (and free) fun kids can have for Halloween in St Kilda!

We’re running a Halloween Hunt (Where’s Wally style) where kids have to spot Halloween items hidden in nearly 60 participating businesses, mark them on a Hunt map and then, when they’ve found 25, turn it in for a lolly bag at the lolly bag station.

While you’re on the hunt, you’ll also be able to enjoy roving Halloween characters, princesses, superheroes, circus trick artists, bubble artists and more! There will also be a free Halloween craft station, free face painters and a free spooky tattoo station!

Night sessions feature three, spine-tingling scare attractions, SFX Make-Up, live music, roving ghosts and ghouls, plenty of tricks and treats, PLUS the ultimate VIP CarnEvil Halloween Party. Gather your ghouls, get your costumes ready, and join us for a seriously spooky Carnivale of Screams experience.

Join us for La Fiesta Costume Dance Party! A free dance class at 8pm and from 9pm until late, our DJs will have you up on the dance floor dancing till the early hours of the night. Come down beforehand and enjoy the taste of Latin America with a gluten free menu; sip on a chilled beer, then work it all off with a night of dancing and fun, plus prizes for best costume and giveaways.

Hosted by the LGBTQIAPN+ community, for community and allys, a celebration with dancing, prizes, and entertainment! This is an 18+ social event and end of year catch up for our community and guests. Whilst we say Halloween event, we welcome you, whether your choose to dress up or not. Ellora kitchen will be open to purchase delicious food and bar will be open for purchases.

Euphoria Social are a completely volunteer-run LGBTQIAPN+ grassroots organisation. Our events are an opportunity to come together to celebrate inclusivity, diversity, and the genuine acceptance of all gender and sexual identities, neuro spiciness, and ethnicities. Halloween in the Cellar takes St Kilda Cellars’ long-running weekly free show, Comedy in the Cellar, and gives it a spooky twist! The horrifiyingly hilarious rising stars of the Melbourne comedy scene are dying to tell you some of their most ghoulish gags, bone-jangling jokes and spine-chilling stories. Get into the spirit of the evening by coming in your creepiest costume. The comedians are too….some may just come as themsleves, but honestly that is terrifying enough (you’ll agree once they start talking into the mic!!)

This Halloween, join us at Linden New Art for a creatively eerie workshop where kids can craft their very own spooky cobweb baskets! In this hands-on activity, young artists will transform simple materials into charmingly creepy baskets perfect for holding Halloween treats or treasures.

Guided by facilitator Anna Zobel, participants will weave sturdy baskets from natural fibres, with the option to use a variety of spooky embellishments—like glitter, glow-in-the-dark paint, and faux spider webs—to give their baskets a ghoulishly delightful makeover.

Collect your glow sticks and follow your undead tour guide as they take you on a journey through the dark and untold side of Acland Village. From iconic venues like Luna Park and Abbey Road Cafe to the hidden local gems, you’ll be taken on a journey into the untold stories of the past.

Meet the local ghosts and ghouls from days of old as they reveal their gruesome, gory, and wholly untrue, tales and sometimes even ask for your help! Can you fix their curse? Can you help complete their unfinished business? Children steely enough to get to the end of this tour of terror will collect a well-deserved sweet treat!

With jokes and larger than life characters played by the actors from Melbourne Actors Guild this interactive tour is fun for the whole family.

Dress up your pup, grab a lead and join us at the Wolf Pack Dog Treat Walk, as part of Scare Kilda weekend – Melbourne’s biggest Halloween celebration!

Led by Patrick from PK’s PACK Dog Walking, you’ll meet at The Banff in Fitzroy Street and parade with your costumed doggies down Fitzroy Street, along the Esplanade Market and then across to Acland Street, finishing at Blessington Street.

You’ll stop with your pup at 10 different locations for trick or treating (well, really just doggy treats) and maybe even some treats for you!

PLEASE NOTE: the ticketing for this event is capped at 40 dogs, however, others can join for free for the walk and the fun of it (just not the treats).

It is $5 for a dog to attend and get treats. It is free for humans to attend and multiple humans can attend per dog! if tickets are sold out for the Wolf Pack Dog Treat Walk, then click through and register on the waitlist and we may schedule another if there is enough interest.

It is a requirement that dogs are in costume, it is optional for owners.
