Peter Berzanskis is an architecture and real estate photographer and this body of his personal limited edition prints represent his fascination with architecture and the urban environment. Recent works in this collection are the outcome of research and practise-based study towards a Master of Arts, in Photography at Photography Studies College, Melbourne. Peter investigates and reinterprets the banal, inconspicuous liminal spaces and places within contemporary western cities, the public spaces that we regularly move through, that are neither a destination nor a place to dwell or reside. These images are ambiguous, and attempt to depict both utopian lightness and dystopian uncertainty, fiction and reality, extant and indiscernible11 spaces. The use of titles and text creates an enigmatic relationship to the images. Previous works interpret modern western architecture and are Perter’s homage to capitalism’s ingenuity and design. All images are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright White. These prints, framed and ready to hang, are on display at Stranger Gallery and Studio for a limited time.
